The police at Kasoa in the Central region have arrested a 52 year old woman for unlawfully possessing substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

The police explain that intelligence from an informant lead to the arrest of Amina Saeed deemed to be a kingpin in the narcotic peddling in the area.

The strategic swoop by the police at “Hightension” a suburb of Kasoa lead to the arrest of the woman as she was found near the high out of some suspected criminals in the area .

Subsequent search in her house revealed large volumes of the banned substance carefully concealed in some containers .

The police discovered 8 slabs of dried leaves, quantity of similar dried leaves on trail, one hundred and forty seven (147) wraps of same dried leaves concealed in a white and violet “buta” just to outwit authorities.

The team also rounded up some 25 more suspected criminals believed to be the brains behind theft and drug peddling in the area.

They have since being subjected to further scrutiny and would be arraigned before court soon.
