CAF appoints Kurt Okraku as President of Inter-Club Competitions and Club Licensing Committee

Ghana Football Association President, Mr Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku has been appointed as the new President of Confederation for African Football (CAF)’s Inter-Club Competitions Committee.

The Ghana Football Association President who also doubles as CAF’s 2nd Vice President after taking up the latter position in April 2025 had since shown qualities of great leadership at the continental level which has opened the door for him to become the president for CAF’s Inter-Club Competitions Committee.

The 54 year old former Dreams FC Executive Chairman has been elevated by the Confederation for the second time in two months as the new role will see him  take up the responsibility of overseeing CAF’s top-tier competitions such as th CAF Champions League, and the CAF Confederations Cup.

He is expected to bring on board strategic leadership to strengthen and develop the stracture of the tournaments across the continent and beyond.

He will also oversee and guide the implementation of the Club Licensing System, which is a major component for promoting professionalism in African club football and getting it with respect to international standards.

As Committee President, Mr Okraku will collaborate with CAF’s Executive Committee, Member Associations and other key stakeholders improve the quality of the inter-club football competitions on the African football calendar.

His appointment is essentially viewed as one of CAF’s vital initiatives to improve the standards of club football on the African continent.
