Caleb Yirenkyi set for record €30m move to Coventry City
Ghana midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi is on the verge of completing a sensational move to English side Coventry City from Danish club FC Nordsjælland in a deal worth up to €30 million (£25.9m).
According to Danish outlet Tipsbladet, the transfer package includes an initial fee of €27 million, with a further €3 million in performance-related bonuses. If completed, the deal will become the biggest transfer sale in the history of Danish football.
The 20-year-old is understood to have agreed personal terms, with only a medical examination and the signing of final contract documents remaining before the move is officially confirmed.
Yirenkyi’s stock has risen significantly following an impressive 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign with Ghana. The talented midfielder scored the decisive goal in the Black Stars’ 1-0 victory over Panama, securing his country’s only win at the tournament.
Despite that memorable moment, Ghana’s World Cup journey came to an end in the Round of 32 after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Colombia.
A move to Coventry City would represent another major step in Yirenkyi’s rapidly developing career and underline his emergence as one of Ghana’s brightest young football talents.
