Former Ghanaian international Charles Taylor has voiced his frustration over the Black Stars' recent performances, criticizing both the players' commitment and the tactical approach of head coach Otto Addo.

Speaking on Angel TV, Taylor did not hold back in his assessment following Ghana's disappointing results in their last two matches.

The Black Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat to Angola in Kumasi and were held to a 1-1 draw by Niger, casting doubt on their chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

"There are question marks on Otto Addo. He doesn't have any tactics," Taylor remarked. "Who was our striker today? Who was the target man that gave the team a focal point upfront like Niger had in their number 7? If you can't beat Niger, then it will be very difficult.

Otto Addo does nothing on the touchline aside from getting balls back on the pitch. I've not seen him beat any better team since he came back."

Taylor also took aim at the players, suggesting they lack the seriousness required when representing the national team.

"The players are good, but they don't show any seriousness when playing for Ghana. That is what I see. The Angola-Sudan game shows that we are way below these teams.

It seems they (Black Stars) are just playing around. We don't have players who are devoted to serving the country. Semenyo and Issahaku were playing like it was a training game," he added.

Contrary to the belief that the team lacks quality, Taylor argued that the problem lies in a lack of confidence and the consistent selection of certain players.

"For me, I never believe that we don't have quality. No player won't deliver when you instill confidence in him. If we decide to play some players over and over, they will be serious," he said.

Currently sitting third in their group, the Black Stars face an uphill task, needing to win their next two matches against Sudan to keep their hopes of qualifying for the tournament alive.
