THE CHIEF of Staff, Julius Debrah has appealed to the Chiefs and People of the Upper West Region to retain President Mahama for more development in the region.

According to him, the electorate should not try anybody in the upcoming elections, because President Mahama has demonstrated enough capability in transforming the lives of the people and the country's economy.

“There is every justification to keep President Mahama and the NDC in power for another eight years,” he added. Hon. Debrah implored the rank and file of the governing party to intensify their engagement with the people and to explain the party's manifesto to them to ensure the party's victory on December 7, 2016.

He said the next NDC administration under President Mahama will enhance the agricultural sector and make it attractive to Ghanaians, especially the youth.

The Chief of Staff, who is on a six-day Campaign Tour in the region, made the appeal when he paid a courtesy call on the Wa Naa, Naa Fuseini Pelpuo.

He assured the people of the region of government's commitment to complete ongoing projects to boost agriculture and open up the economy of the area to create opportunities for the youth. Mr. Debrah announced that the next NDC government would improve the systems of agriculture by introducing modern farming implements to make farming appealing.

According to him, all arable lands lying fallow would be put into good use for the benefit of the people.

The Chief of Staff also reiterated government's pledge to build a modern stadium in Wa, the region capital and other regions which are without such sports facilities.

He assured the people that the governing National Democratic Congress would work assiduously to transform Ghana and Change lives through workable and tested policies.

“Countries like China, Malaysia or Singapore have achieved more because they kept a particular government that was doing something right to continue,” Julius Debrah noted, adding that “being a president should not be premised on trial and error.”

Mr. Debrah noted that the destiny of Ghana and that of other nations cannot be bargained on trial and error basis.

“If the system is working we must keep it going to bring about the change we desire. Countries like Malaysia have achieved progress not because they changed governments but because they kept governments that were working,” he told the Chiefs.

He explained that after the official launch of the NDC 2016 manifesto, President Mahama delegated him to present some of the details to you (Wa Naa) and your people in the region.

The Paramount Chief of Wala Traditional Area, Naa Fuseini Pelpuo commended government for the bold initiatives and development projects in the area.

He also took the opportunity to invite the President through the Chief of Staff, to grace the occasion of the Damba Festival, which will climax in early 2017.

He was accompanied by Minister of State in charge Public-Private Partnerships, Rashid Pelpuo, the Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Amin Amidu Sulemani, Aspiring MPs, Regional and past executives of the NDC party.
