Former Asante Kotoko trainer, CK Akonnor is will replace Black Stars assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko for the upcoming 2021 African Cup of Nations double header Qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe, according to reports.

The changes, which was hinted long ago to hit the Black Stars technical bench is now certain to be confirmed with reports indicating that an official announcement is imminent.

Tanko has been tasked to focus on his role as head coach of the Black Meteors as he prepares Ghana's Olympic team to the U-23 AFCON in Egypt between 8-22 November, 2019.

In his absence, Akonnor will be on the Black Stars technical bench for the upcoming AFCON qualifying matches against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe on November 14th and 18th respectively.

It is however unclear what the future of the former Dreams coach holds although there are wide spread speculations that Akonnor will be handed an official contract of his appointment after Ghana's two games against south Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
