Ghanaian forward Kamal Sowah, currently playing for Belgian side Club Brugge, has been given a three-month driving ban after being caught speeding at 172 km/h on the E40 highway in Aalter, Belgium.

The 24-year-old, who has previous speeding offenses on record, did not attend the police court hearing due to training commitments.

At the time of the violation, Sowah was also found without his identity card.

A police judge in Ghent ruled that one month of the driving ban would take effect immediately, while the remaining two months would be suspended conditionally.

Additionally, Sowah has been fined €840 and will be required to retake four driving exams. Despite these penalties, Sowah has the option to appeal the court's decision.

Sowah joined Club Brugge in 2021 in a high-profile €9 million transfer but has struggled to maintain his early form.

Loan spells at AZ Alkmaar and Standard Liège have not revitalized his career, and he has since been demoted to the B team. His contract with Club Brugge runs until June 2025.
