Egypt manager Hector Cuper has called up Smouha goalking Hossam Salama ‘Paulo’ for the Pharaohs’ clash against Ghana.

The Egyptian Football Association has announced that Egyptian Premier League top scorer for the past two seasons Hossam Paulo is set to join the national team camp for the anticipated encounter against Ghana.

Paulo has expressed time after time his disappointment after getting ignored by the Egyptian national team staff, despite scoring more goals than any other player in the league over the past three season, surpassing the 40-goal mark.

The 32-year-old was called up to Egypt’s squad a few weeks ago for their friendly encounters against Guinea and South Africa, making a short cameo against Guinea while being excluded from the squad against South Africa.

Paulo has scored six goals in eight games in the league this season, just one goal behind top scorer Ahmed El-Sheikh as he aims to become the first player ever to win Egyptian Premier League top scorer for three consecutive seasons.
It is worth noting that Paulo became the first player in history of Egypt to win league top scorer in two consecutive seasons with two different teams.
