Black Starlets coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has said it will be a failure if Ghana does not "win the ultimate" of the ongoing 2018 WAFU Zone B U-17 AFCON qualifiers.

He says it will be "a plus" to the player development agenda should Ghana defeat Nigeria in the final.

The Black Starlets beat Ivory Coast by 2-1  in semifinal  on Wednesday, September 12  to set up a meeting with Nigeria on Saturday to battle for the sole ticket to the juvenile championship in Tanzania.

“If I am not able to win the ultimate, it’s a failure because Ghana has failed to qualify, but in terms of development it’s a plus,” Zito said.

The Golden Eaglets also defeated hosts Niger by 2-1 in the other semi final of the regional qualification tournament.

The Black Starlets finish as Group A leaders with four points from two matches before crushing out the Ivorians.

Zito and his boys will hope to continue their winning ways in the final as his taarget of  clinching the ultimate is against one of Ghana's bitterest rival in football.

The final will hold on Saturday, September 15 with the  winners of the WAFU Zone B representing the zone at the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled to hold in Tanzania.
