President of the Republic, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, his wife and family, as well as staff, have all tested negative for the novel coronavirus.

According to a report by Daily Mail Gh, this was disclosed by the President's Physician, Dr Patrina Techi-Ankrah on Wednesday.

“A day before the president’s birthday, him, the first lady, his daughters and all the staff of his household and I am happy to announce that all the tests came negative.

“A day after his birthday, we continued to test people at the secretaries and as I speak now, a total of 99 persons have been tested and the results have come back negative,” Dr Techi-Ankrah said.

There have been several calls by many Ghanaians to make the President’s status public — after he embarked on series of travels to worst-hit countries in February.

Ghana’s COVID-19 case nears 200

Ghana has recorded 195 COVID-19 cases as of April 1, 2020, the health minister disclosed at a press conference on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Mr. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu said the number of death still remains at five with 49 patients receiving care at home now.
