Despite President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s eagerness to fight against corruption over the years, NDC’s Felix Kwakye Ofosu says his government has woefully failed in combating the canker.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, the former Deputy Information Minister in the erstwhile Mahama Administration was emphatic that the President chose to be a talkative rather than to take serious measures to at least curb the situation.

Ghana scored 41 out of a possible clean score of 100 and ranked 80 out of 180 countries/territories included in the 2019 index which was released on Thursday, January 23, 2020, through Transparency International’s local chapter, Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII).

But, Mr Kwakye Ofosu believes the NPP government that heavily criticised the erstwhile Mahama administration over corruption has disappointed Ghanaians.

“Before Ghana was ranked 78 but under this administration Ghana is ranked 80. This is not good news for the country. If you compare our previous ranking and now, obviously you can see clearly that Nana Addo [President] was deceiving us [Ghanaian] with his useless talks in an attempt to fight corruption,” he told host Mac Jerry Osei Agyeman.
