Black Queens goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan has been named among the nominees for the Women’s 11 at the 2025 The Best FIFA Awards, marking a major milestone in her career.

Konlan is one of only three African goalkeepers shortlisted in the goalkeeping category for the prestigious Team of the Year, and the sole Ghanaian to receive a nomination at this year’s global awards.

The Samartex Ladies shot-stopper enjoyed a standout year, playing a pivotal role in Ghana’s third-place finish at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) held in Morocco. Her heroics in two of the three knockout-stage matches were instrumental in securing the Black Queens’ bronze medal.

Konlan’s nomination reflects her consistency, leadership, and clutch performances on the continental stage, earning her recognition among the world’s elite.
