Daily Guide reporter, Daniel Bampoe has been nominated in the forth coming Eastern Regional Ghana Journalist Awards.

Mr Bampoe has been nominated for his report for the Accra based newspaper under the Crime And Court Reporting category.

His only contender in the race is Daily Graphic's Samuel Kyei Boateng.

The award scheme which is in its second year will come off today Friday 9th August 2019, at the Royal Mac Dic Plaza Hotel in Koforidua.

20 JOURNALISTS/BROADCASTERS COMPETE IN 2ND EASTERN GJA AWARDS

20 journalists and broadcasters from the Eastern Region have been shortlisted to compete in the 2nd Eastern GJA awards slated for Friday 9th August 2019, at the Royal Mac Dic Plaza Hotel in Koforidua.

In all, 22 media practitioners filed to compete in the awards but only 20 nominations  were considered for review by the committee.

The nominees are:

 Indigenous News Caster of the year

2. Kwaku Aboagye Apenteng (Kingdom Fm)

Best Development Programme of the year

1. Kwadwo Amoako Gyampah (Good Life Fm)

2. Felix Yaw Adjei (Okwahu Fm)

Crime And Court Reporting

Road Safety Reporting

1. Edwin Larbi (Rite Fm)

2.Ebenezer Aye (Utv)

Rural Reporting

1. Candida Dery (GBC/Sunrise FM)

Some of the categories did not get entry while a couple of the entries were disqualified at the first stage of the vetting process.

There will be other honorary awards on the day.

The awards comes off at the Royal Mac Dic Plaza Hotel in Koforidua at 5:00pm

All invitees are expected to be seated by 5:00pm.
