John Obi Mikel has revealed the return of David Luiz to Chelsea is like having another Diego Costa around as both pride themselves on being funny people.

Luiz completed a surprise return to the Blues on transfer deadline day with the 29-year-old going back to Stamford Bridge after two years with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian is expected to feature for Antonio Conte’s side on Sunday in the Premier League contest with Swansea and Luiz’s standing as a fun-loving player has become widely renowned.

And Mikel has indicated that the craziness and humour that Luiz possess is the same as striker Diego Costa, and the rest of the Chelsea locker-room are on the watch now that there are two of them.

The Nigerian also says that Luiz is so proud of his ability to speak French that he spends a lot of time just talking in the language.

Mikel told Goal: “David is the funny one. I can’t explain how funny he is.

“He’s beyond funny, he’s crazy. When he is around, nobody is relaxed when he is around because he either jumps on you or surprises you. He is a lovely guy, he is funny, just like Diego Costa.

“He is a fun guy – an interesting guy to be around in the dressing room. And now he speaks French, all you can hear is David Luiz speaking French, showing off to everyone that he is speaking French, so it is lovely to have him back.”

Chelsea have won all three of their league contests so far this season, a run Conte will be eager to keep alive at the Liberty Stadium against Francesco Guidolin’s side.

Luiz played 28 times in Ligue 1 last season for PSG, helping the club to claim another league title before leaving for Chelsea. source:squawka.com
