Deloitte forecasts 5.7% Economic growth for Ghana in 2026
27th January 2026
Deloitte has projected that Ghana’s economy will grow by 5.7 percent in 2026, citing improving macroeconomic conditions and policy-driven reforms.
The firm attributes the outlook to growing economic stability, marked by easing inflationary pressures, a strengthening cedi, and improved fiscal management. Deloitte noted that Ghana’s growth prospects will be bolstered by stronger export performance and key government initiatives, including the 24-Hour Economy policy and the Accelerated Export Development Programme.
Despite the positive outlook, Deloitte cautioned that the projection remains vulnerable to risks, particularly fluctuations in cocoa production and persistent challenges within the agricultural sector.
Ghana’s economy recorded a robust 6.3 percent growth in the second quarter of 2025, supported by strong sectoral performance and a decline in inflation to single-digit levels.
The local currency also posted significant gains, appreciating by more than 30 percent in the first nine months of 2025 to average about GH¢13 to the US dollar. This performance was driven by increased gold export earnings, sustained interventions by the Bank of Ghana, successful debt restructuring efforts, and initiatives such as the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board.
Deloitte further advised the government to maintain capital expenditure within its fiscal consolidation programme, stressing the importance of efficient resource planning and effective revenue mobilisation to sustain long-term economic growth.
