Deputy Minister of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Sampson Ahi, has commended the resilience, innovation, and leadership of Ghanaian businesses, describing them as essential drivers of the nation’s socio-economic transformation.
Speaking at the Third Edition of the Ghana Business League Awards held over the weekend in Accra, Mr. Ahi praised the awardees for turning bold business ideas into successful enterprises despite prevailing national and global economic challenges.
“This evening, we shine a spotlight on Ghana’s top businesses that have persevered through adversity, embraced innovation, and upheld excellence in manufacturing, supply, and service,” he stated.
The awards ceremony, organized by Maven Communications, serves as a strategic platform to celebrate enterprise excellence and promote a business-friendly environment in alignment with the government’s 24-Hour Economy agenda.
Mr. Ahi highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to create a more efficient and enabling business climate, particularly through the Business Regulatory Reforms programme. He noted that these reforms aim to address systemic challenges, streamline regulations, and strengthen governance frameworks affecting enterprise development.
“This reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to removing long-standing barriers that have limited the potential of Ghanaian businesses,” he said.
He also commended the Awards Board for developing a recognition framework that reflects the diversity of Ghana’s economic landscape, encouraging healthy competition and performance benchmarking across sectors.
To the award recipients, Mr. Ahi urged continued excellence both locally and globally. He also offered words of encouragement to nominees who did not win, emphasizing that their recognition was evidence of promise and positive impact within their industries.
“Let us continue working together—from vision to success—towards a Ghana where every business has the opportunity to grow, compete, and meaningfully contribute to national development,” he added.
Event Director Mr. JoJo Danso Asante thanked business leaders for their collaboration throughout the year and encouraged more businesses to register with the Ghana Business League. He underscored the importance of building resilient enterprises and creating valuable networking opportunities.
Awards were presented in several key categories, including Best in Innovation, Best in Healthcare Services, and Best in Agribusiness, recognizing companies that have made exceptional contributions to Ghana’s economic progress.
