Some delegates of the NDC in the Ada Constituency have vehemently opposed moves by the Vetting Committee of the party to skew results to favour otherwise unqualified candidates.

From deep sources, two of the four candidates were uncleared after going through vetting to contest for the candidacy of the party in the Ada Constituency. One Mr. Thomas Boye-Doe Tetteh who picked nomination to contest was disqualified by the Vetting Committee for failing to impress with his answers to the Committee.

One other candidate, Mr. Charles Teye McCathy who is said to hold a United Kingdom citizenship was disqualified by the Vetting Committee as his status runs counter to the Regulations of the Party NDC ahead of its primaries.

The interesting development is that, some disgruntled members of the party are protesting moves by the current Deputy Minority Chief Whip Hon. Confront Doyo Cudjoe Ghansah to lobbying the Vetting Committee to approve the two candidates to contest.

The unhappy members of the NDC are alleging that Hon. Ghansah’s is seeking to have the three candidates split votes for her to sail through.

Aside that, they have claimed that MP is singlehandedly sponsoring one of the two disqualified to place her closest contender Miss. Catherine Dela Dzivenu at a disadvantage for her success at the party’s primaries.

The further claim that the “clandestine moves” are being engineered by Hon. Ghansah for the Committee to clear the two disqualified candidates to enable her achieve her desire of retaining her position as candidate for the NDC.

The Vetting Committee had earlier cleared Miss Catherine and Hon. Doyo Ghansah after they were successfully vetted. A balloting process was subsequently conducted for a 1st and 2nd place for Hon. Ghansah and Miss Dela Dzivenu respectively.

Party delegates from the Constituency who became aware of the development are furious and have threatened to petition the party to resist any attempt to smuggle in individuals who are not qualified to contest for elections in their area.

Our eyes are closely following development at the NDC vetting Committees and would keep readers updated in due course.
