A doctor used a condom to remove a bottle cap from a man’s belly.
Liu (the only name given for the unfortunate patient) had accidentally swallowed the lid while drinking beer with his friends on Friday.
After rushing to Lianyungagn Hospital, in Jiangsu Province, East China, at approximately 10pm he was told to return the following day because his stomach was too full to remove it.
But when he went back on Saturday morning he was in for a surprise.
He wrapped the lid in the rubber contraceptive in order to make sure it did not scratch his insides as it was removed, Yangzi Evening News reported.
Dr Weiping, 60, said his previous training as an electrical engineer meant he had the expertise to carry out the complex procedure.
Liu had swallowed the lid because he was drinking his beer too quickly.
