A high ranking member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asked the government to deal with the facts exposed by Manasseh's Pro-NPP Militia group documentary, rather than focusing on the sensationalization aspect of his work.

Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, who is also a confidante of President Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo Addo said, the Ghanaian investigative journalist was only doing his job to bring out the lapses in the government to be acted upon.

"Manasseh Azure Awuni was only doing his job. Don’t over-focus on the sensationalized aspect of his work. Dismiss that but deal with the facts. Focus on the lapses in the system his work has exposed and deal with it!", he said in a Twitter post.

According to him, "Don’t try to hang him because it won’t work!".

His comment comes after Manasseh Awuni went undercover to release an exposé which shows a militia group associated with the NPP is being trained at an important state facility classified as a security zone.

According to the exposé by the Multimedia journo, De-Eye group has been meeting at the Christiansborg Castle, popularly known as the Osu Castle for close to two years.
