The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the Ghanaian electorates to desist from trusting the promises made by the governing NDC in their manifesto ahead of the December polls.

This was at a press conference held in Accra today by the NPP. The press conference was themed ‘promises made, promises broken’ was a response to the NDC promises in its manifesto.

Addressing the press conference the NPP’s Policy Adviser for the 2016 campaign, Boakye Agyarko, said President Mahama is not in touch with the masses and therefore does not deserve their trust.

“What we have in John Mahama is a President that is so out of touch with the problems of the average Ghanaian that he sees his non-performance in these sectors as success.”

He argued that the NDC’s Green book and other achievements the party claims to have made are untrue.

According to Boakye Agyarko even though President Mahama keeps touting his achievements, “when you speak at random to people around the country, it appears their concerns, problems and anxieties are the same. Unemployment, bad roads, the lack of decent and affordable accommodation and the high cost of living as well as the falling standards in education and health,”he said.

The NDC officially launched its manifesto on Saturday,September 17, 2016. According to the NDC the manifesto which is titled ‘changing lives, transforming Ghana’ is expected to develop a Ghana the more if the NDC wins the December 7 polls.
