The decomposing body of a girl has been retrieved from a cocoa farm at Tweapease, a farming community in the Kwaebibirem district of the Eastern region.

The body of the deceased is suspected to be that of a two-year-old girl, Patient Ashitey reported missing by parents on October 22, 2019.

According to the parents, the girl did not return home after her first day at school at the Blessed Home Academy.

The incident was reported to the Police, while the family of the missing girl run incessant announcements on local radio stations and information centres but to no avail.

Eight days later on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, Police received information about a decomposing body of a girl found in the bush.

Residents trooped to the scene while a Police team were dispatched and after taking inventories of the crime scene retrieved the body to the morgue for autopsy.

Parents who reported of their missing girl identified the decomposing body as their missing daughter with the beads around her waist.

Residents suspect ritual murder given that the crime scene is far from the school but Police is still investigating the incident.
