In a bid to promote the activities of the District and government through participatory governance, transparency and accountability, the Kwahu East District Assembly has held its maiden Meet the Press to throw light on developmental projects in the area.
The Meet the Press is aimed at disseminating government's Information through development communication to engage by stakeholders in order to receive feedback.
In his presentation, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Kwahu East, Hon. Isaac Agyapong touched on various developments initiated under his administration.
He said government is committed to see to the development of the district after two and half years in office.
He revealed that, some areas in the district including Suminakese, Atta ne Atta, Nteso Anglican Primary, Ahenase KG, Motta Mireku KG and Hyewohoden KG have all benefited from school projects in their bid to provide quality education to the people in the area and country at large.
Mr. Agyapong added that, communities like Asikam and Abene have received durbar grounds whereas police post has been built for residents of Hweehwee.
Mr. Agyapong disclosed that, about 100km feeder roads in the area have all been maintainof about maintain and are constructing a number of ten covert on selected roads.
According to him, the Bryan Acheampong Foundation has been of great help having give scholarships to about 100 teachers where 70 of them is currently having their degree course at the Abetifi Presbyterian University.
He expressed that, the foundation in its quest to support the vision of the president supported about 2,000 farmers in the area with farm inputs such cutlasses, Boots and others.
Again, he revealed the foundation has been able to register about 1,000 children without health insurance in the area.
Touching on the thrift shops by the foundation, he disclosed that about 2,000 people are currently benefiting from it particularly the aged.
He expressed that, with the help of the MP and the president of the country, Kwahu East will see massive developmental projects in subsequent years.
