The Electoral Commission says it will use yellow and brown colours to represent YES and NO respectively on the ballot paper for the upcoming referendum to be conducted on December 27, 2018 in six areas towards the creation of new regions.

It said the earlier information provided during a stakeholders’ meeting on the referendum in Sunyani to the effect that colours green and red would be used to represent the YES and NO on the ballot paper was a proposal which was not adopted.

A Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Director of the commission, Mr Frank Nunoo, who provided a sample of the ballot paper to Graphic Online therefore called on people in the six areas to ignore the earlier information and rather concentrate on the sample of ballot paper with the yellow and brown colours.

The six proposed new regions for the referendum are Oti, Bono East, Western North, Ahafo, Savannah and North East.
