The District Chief Executive [DCE] of Effiduase-Asokore, Madam Mary Boatemaa Marfo is in the hot waters after supposedly fabricating a story to tarnish the image of the Member of Parliament for the area, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie.

She claimed the esteemed lawmaker slapped her over an altercation when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo visited the district some days ago.

According to report, the alleged tiff between the two was over a bus that was arranged to transport party supporters to a durbar ground where the President met indigenes of the constituency.

But, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie told Peacefmonline.com in an interview that the publication was “untrue” – adding that, “I haven’t raised my hand on anyone and I don’t intend to do so.’’

The driver of the bus at the center of the controversy also strongly denied the allegation and said Dr Nana Ayew Afriye “never slapped” the DCE.

However, some women of Effiduase-Asokore constituency in the Ashanti region have waded into the controversy and cautioned the DCE, Madam Mary Boatemaa Marfo to come publicly and tell the truth or face their wrath.

“We know our MP respect women and under no circumstance would he slap a woman. He is a united person and his aim is to develop out constituency.  So, the DCE should come out public and say the truth or we will curse her.” A woman said in the video

In a video sighted by Peacefmonline.com, the women also called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to with immediate effect suspend the DCE after describing her as a “divisive” government appointee.

According to them, the DCE is “nowhere to be found” after her “evil” attempt to tarnish the reputation of their MP.
