AWARD winning singer, Efya, has never hidden her commitment for women’s causes and has used her music to champion the rights of women.

Now, the Forgetting Me artiste is out with another song meant to inspire young ladies and she calls it Paper Gun, a collaboration with international DJ, Lara Fraser.

Paper Gun is a song empowering young ladies to place value on themselves and not subject themselves to maltreatment from men in the name of love.

“You know, I’m committed to the well-being of women, I believe it is time we stand and fight for our good and not continue to be treated poorly. Relationships are meant to be happy unions and not make one partner feel less worthy of themselves.

“This issue of women going through a lot of emotional stress in relationships is one that has been ignored and as an artiste, the only way I could address that was through a song,” she said.

Efya told Showbiz she collaborated with the Australian born Lara Fraser to send a message of hope to women from different racial backgrounds facing similar situations.

The video for Paper Gun, shot in Spain, is out and it depicts a happy life young ladies can have without bitter relationship.

DJ Lara Fraser is one of Australia’s leading DJs with Boogaloo Radio and she made her presence felt on Paper Gun with her own style.

Born Jane Awindor, Efya, who is currently signed onto the UK-based record label, Jutland Entertainment, has maintained an influential role in the music industry.

She is one of the best vocalists on the scene and she is a four-time winner of the VGMA Best Female Vocalist of the Year.
