The Ghana Police Service has warned Muslim youth it will not compromise on motor traffic regulations during the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations on Friday, 15 June, 2018.

“While wishing all Muslims an enjoyable festival, the Police wish to seize the opportunity to entreat celebrants, especially the youth to endeavour to observe motor traffic regulations,”  a statement issued by the Police and signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, David Eklu, Director-General/Public Affairs, said.

Police say adequate security measures have been put in place to protect life and property during the celebration.

“The Police administration and the entire Police Service congratulate all Muslims in the country on a successful Ramadan and also wish them ‘Barka da Sallah’ on the occasion of the celebration of the Eid-Ul-Fitr.

“The Police wishes to assure the general public, especially Muslims that adequate security measures have been put in place to create a congenial atmosphere for a peaceful celebration of the Eid,” the statement said.
