Atlético de Madrid are very busy in the transfer market as they look to offload some players in a tricky transfer window while they seek to also reinforce the squad.

The club is keen on signing Elisha Owusu who plays for Belgian side Gent and has been in fine form this season.

French born Owusu began his career with French giants Olympique Lyonnais and rose to become the captain of their reserve side before going on loan at Sochaux.

The defensive midfielder later joined Gent last year and has since established himself as a key player for the Begian giants.

Thomas Partey has been heavily linked with a move to English Premier League side Arsenal  and the rojiblancos have earmarked the French born Ghanaian as a replacement for Partey.

Sources close to the footballer confirm to this medium that Owusu will not leave this market in Gent.

The "Buffaloes" have already closed the departure of Jonathan David and do not plan to transfer the best footballer of the team.

However, from the management of the Belgian team, they already know that they will not be able to retain Owusu much longer.

His performance has been outstanding and there are several clubs, in addition to Atlético de Madrid, that are closely monitoring his growth.

The footballer, for his part, has no intention of leaving Gent right now. Loved by the fans, the Franco-Ghanaian will complete his second full season as a Gent footballer.

A campaign, in which he is already establishing himself as the most transcendental piece of the team, uncovering himself as a true ‘octopus’ from the center of the field.

The difficult season of the Belgian team has not made Elisha Owusu lose relevance in the team.

Gent has already had three coaches so far this season and all of them have trusted Owusu in their initial first eleven.

Atlético de Madrid are closely following him with a magnifying glass, and they are not alone as other teams in LaLiga like Sevilla are also keen.
