Mathew Vikuba Nantiere, the winner of the 2018 Kwahu Easter Mountain Marathon, will leave Accra on Friday, February 1, to participate in the 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

The marathon slated for February 2, 2019, would see the prodigy compete with the finest on the continent, with over 50, 000 athletes expected to participate.

The Access Bank Lagos City Marathon is regarded one of the biggest marathons on the continent, with prize money of $50, 000 for the winner.
He told the GNA Sports that, he has prepared well for the race and will put in his best to make Ghana proud.
Nantiere said, he was expecting stiff competition from other athletes from East and West Africa but was convinced he would excel.
The 22-year old Nantiere, a student of the Cape Coast University and an employee of the Ghana National Fire Service dazzled fans as he won the maiden Kwahu Easter Marathon in April this year.
The second edition of the Kwahu Easter Mountain Marathon would take place next year in April, as thousands across the West African region are expected to participate in the event.
