Ghana winger Ernest Asante scored for his Cypriot side Omonia Nicosia on Sunday afternoon as they beat AEL Limassol by three goals to nil in the Cyprus League.

The Ghanaian winger started the game for his new side in their match day 5 fixture at the GPS Stadium and did not disappoint with his performance.

Omonia Nicosia turned the screw and won by three nil with Asante among the goals.

Asante joined the Cyprus club this summer as a free agent after leaving UAE Gulf League side Fujairah SC

Two goals from Andronikos Kakoullis and Eric Bauthéac gave Nicosia the win with Asante also scoring to hand all three points to Omonia Nicosia.

The Ghanaian was replaced by teammate Loizos Loizou in the 86th minute of the game but it was a memorable afternoon for him.
