Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Ernest Sowah is on the verge of signing for sworn-enemies Hearts of Oak in the ongoing Ghana Premier League transfer window.

The shot-stopper ended a two year stay at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday after a mutual termination of his contract.

The 30-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2016 from Congolese side Don Bosco and played a role in the club's run to clinching the FA Cup trophy last season.

However, he fell out of favour with the club's top hierarchy after chief executive officer Dr. Kwame Kyei accused him of involving in a match fixing scandal against Liberty Professionals.

Although, the player denied any involvement in such a criminal act, he was demoted to the youth team and has finally cancelled his contract.

Ghanaguardian.com have gathered from a grapevine source at Hearts who confirmed talks are well advanced with Sowah and the Phobinas, with a deal expected to be struck soon.
