Swansea City attacker Andre Ayew’s proposed move away from the Liberty Stadium before the European transfer window closes has hit a snag.

The Swans can no longer afford Ayew following relegation from the Premier League - and boss Steve Cooper has made it clear he is not part of his long term plans.

Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen and Italian side Sampdoria have offered the Ghanaian international a way out, with the duo keen on his signature.

But a deal with either club hangs in the balance because both of them want the Swans to contribute towards's the winger's exorbitant wages.

Ayew earns in excess of £80,000-a-week at the Championship club, who are desperate to get him off the wage bill.

But talks with Sampdoria and Bremen officials have reached an impasse due to how much the 29-year-old is going to cost them in wages.
