Wealth will be created in the next term of President John Dramani Mahama, Deputy Minister of Transport, Bawa-Mogtari, has said.

According to her, the massive infrastructural development under the first term of the president will bear fruit in his second term where a lot of jobs will be created for the “good people of Ghana”.

Speaking on Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM on Monday, 5 December, Mrs Bawa-Mogtari said Mr Mahama will deliver on his promises of creating an enabling environment for job creation.

“He has kept faith with the good people of Ghana, he has continued to tout his achievements over the last four years, he has made a very good case, and the next four years will be focusing on bearing fruits from the infrastructural development, for the good people of Ghana will now have jobs, wealth will be created through economic transformation and livelihood empowerment programmes which will be achieved through value addition on all of our raw products which hitherto were exported without adding value,” she told show host Chief Jerry Forson.

Ahead of the presidential and parliamentary election on Wednesday December 7, Mrs Bawa-Mogtari said if Ghanaians vote for Mr Mahama, they will be voting for “improved infrastructure, Ghanaians will vote for better quality of educational facilities and access to education, Ghanaians will vote for better motorable roads, better accessible health facilities – don’t forget that a healthy people is a healthy nation”, adding: “And Ghanaians will, above all, vote for one man who gave the assurance that he will create an enabling environment for job creation and wealth creation and in the next four years, President Mahama will deliver largely on these promises.”

She urged the youth to prepare themselves for the opportunities that will be made available to them if Mr Mahama is re-elected.

“Ghanaians know that with all the infrastructure they see in development in airport facilities, in road infrastructure, in the oil sector, we have revamped factories and it is the good people of Ghana who will benefit so all the opportunities that are available we should make ourselves available to them. We should train ourselves to meet the demand. And above all …don’t forget this is a leader who has set up youth entrepreneurship fund with GHS10million seed money and I have seen the product of some of these beneficiaries and what they are doing and Ghanaians as entrepreneurs themselves are working to employ and improve the betterment of their livelihood so certainly Ghana is rising,” she added.
