Member of Parliament for Yendi, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has donated 1,000 bags of rice to the Muslims in his constituency to commemorate the Edul-Fitir celebration.

The huge donation is for distribution to Chiefs, Imams, opinion leaders women and the needy.

Other beneficiaries include party faithfuls and youth groups in the Yendi Constituency.

The gesture is in line with the legislator’s annual support to needy Muslims to enjoy the Eid celebration with their families as the holy month of Ramadan fasting comes to a close.

Alhaji Farouk Mahama underscored to share with the needy during such occasions that comes with enormous blessings from Allah.

He cautioned the youth in the area to celebrate in ways not contrary to the Islamic teachings.

Alhaji Farouk also urged Muslim celebrants particularly those in Yendi to continue to use the blessings of the Eid to pray for continued peace and tranquility in the town.

The Islamic spiritual ritual comes off this Thursday, 13th May. 2021 across the world.

However, the Ministry for Interior has in a statement declared Thursday as a statutory holiday to observe the sacred event.
