The recent power outages experienced in some parts of the Capital city is as a results of defaults in some cables at Mallam Bulk Supply Point (BSP)' as the Electricity Company of Ghana has reported.

The ECG have said “there is an interruption in power supply in the western part of Accra due to an accident which led to a cable cut tripping the system at its Mallam Bulk Supply Point (BSP).”

The ECG indicated again that they are working “assiduously to restore power as soon as possible” adding that the inconvenience is very much regretted.”

Due to limited supply of gas from Nigeria in July this year, the power crisis became severe in the country.

Although checks revealed that WAPCo suspended gas flow to Ghana over unpaid bills by government, the Petroleum Minister, Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Buah explained that gas supply from Nigeria  had been disrupted by terror attacks on the pipelines in the West African country.

Due to the intervention of the government, the problem was resolved subsequently.

However, it is ambiguous what the new statement from the ECG is insinuating.

The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform its cherished customers that there is an interruption in power supply in the western part of Accra due to an Accident which led to a cable cut tripping the system at its Mallam Bulk Supply Point (BSP).

ECG engineers are working assiduously to restore power as soon as possible. The inconvenience is very much regretted.

Above is the statement from the ECG.
