Andre Ayew was left disappointed as his dream of reaching the Group stage of this season's UEFA Champions League crashed on Tuesday night when Fenerbahce got eliminated by Benfica.

The Yellow Canaries played a 1-1 stalemate with the Portuguese side in front of their home fans as they were dumped out from the top European competition on 2-1 aggregate.

The Ghanaian international who lasted the entire duration of the game, took to his social media page to express his disappointment;

“Not the results we were looking for, looking forward to the next game. Fantastic atmosphere as always,” Ayew posted on Instagram.

The 28 year old joined the Turkish side on loan from Swansea City this summer.
