The first lady, Rebecca Akufo Addo has lauded the decision by the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) to create a women’s wing dubbed ‘AGI Women in Business’.

A wing which is supposed to promote the work of women entrepreneurs was launched at the day two of AGI’s Industrial exhibition.

Launching the wing as the guest speaker, Mrs Akuffo Addo urged women to take a seat at board and management levels of industry and work as research has showed that women entrepreneurs do well.

So far the Industrial exhibition has seen captains of industry meet and exchanged ideas on how to improve and develop their businesses.

The first lady challenged women to set up businesses as women entrepreneurs tend to do well than their male counterparts.

“Businesses who have women in leadership positions increase profitability and promote an environment that is both creative and innovative.

Companies with female leadership tend to do better in many respects and again women owned businesses create jobs and contribute to our economic development.

So indeed there is a lot to be said about women in business.

According to a MasterCard index of women entrepreneurs 2018 women tend to make headway as entrepreneurs.” She stressed.
