Asante Kotoko Coach Mariano Barreto has threatened to leave the club if conditions do not change for the better.

The underfire Portuguese says he is not ready to endure the kind of conditions he went through at the Kumasi based club for another season.

Speaking on Nhyira FM on Thursday, the tough spoken coach he cannot work with a team that lacks some basic amenities, which he sees as an insult on his professional career.

"I can’t work under same conditions we went through last season like no dressing room, physio room, my offices and other things.” - Mariano Barreto told Nhyira FM.

“I will even insult myself as a professional coach, I’m a professional coach and I didn’t beg for the job” - He added.

He had earlier raised eyebrows when lamented over lack of washroom at the team's training grounds.

Relationship between the former black Star coach and the Porcupines seem to be on the wane after they went Trophyless at the 2020/21 season.

The 1983 African Champions lost the league to rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and further lost the FA cup to Berekum Chelsea.

But Barreto believes a lot of things contributed to the team's failure and would not accept to be part of next season's campaign if management fails to fix them.
