Mrs Rebecca Naa Okaikor Akufo-Addo, the wife of President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has advised Ghanaian children to study hard and remain focused on their education.

The incoming First Lady reminded the children about the importance of education to their future aspirations during her annual New Year party for children at her Nima residence.

“Education is key to your success, so learn hard, stay focused and you will have a great future,” Mrs Akufo-Addo told the children, who had come from all over Accra to have fun at her residence.

The annual event, called Kids’ Day, an initiative of Mrs Akufo-Addo, is to provide children, mostly from her Nima neighbourhood, with a fun-filled day, characterised by eating, dancing, games, and a motivational word from her.

Mrs Akufo- Addo later made a donation of food items to the children's ward of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

In a message delivered on her behalf by an aide, the incoming First Lady said her husband Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president-elect, would fulfil his promise to make Ghana a great country for all.

The staff and patients of the hospital expressed gratitude to her and expressed hope in her continued support for the children’s ward.
