The NDC's manifesto promise on paying players of the Ghana Premier League is "doable and achievable", football management expert Yusif Alhassan chipsah has said.

The Executive Member of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) believes the idea behind the move is one the policies that will go a long way to improve the foreign exchange earnings of the country.

Among its 2020 Manifesto promise, the NDC led by Former President Mahama, has pledged to establish a Sports Development Fund to support remuneration of the players of club the domestic clubs and promote sports in Ghana.

Despite huge doubt been expressed by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chibsah, who is in charge of player relations at the PFAG, believes if the NDC's promise is well executed, it will bring great deal of development to "Ghana football and the economy"

"The opposition party in Ghana NDC's decision to pay footballers salaries in Ghana is doable, it can be achieved," the Asante Kotoko legend told Hot fm 93.9 FOCAL sports morning show.

"This project will surely help Ghana football game and it will helps in our foreign exchange in the country.

"Though its a promise but it will really help the development of Ghana football and our economy."

The former Black Meteors captain has become one of the technical brains in the country and his assessment and endorsement of the NDC's idea adds more weight behind the "People's Manifesto".

Page 86, paragraph 7.6.1 (f) of the Peoples’ Manifesto indicates the NDC will “use the Sports Development Fund to assist the Sports Associations to provide and improve remuneration and welfare of local sportsmen and women.”

An earlier submission by the party's National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi said "the NDC recognizes the dire straits that our Sports Associations, particularly the Football fraternity and Premier League Clubs have endured in the past two years, first as a result of the disruption that was caused by the #12 investigations, and currently due to the debilitating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Ghana football which has been halted since early this year".
