Former Kumasi Golf Champion, Linda Tranchemontagne has been inducted into the Cornwall Hall Of Fame.

The Canadian who became golf champion in Ghana in 1974 was inducted into the Class of 2016 in the sports club hall of fame together with 8 other Cornwall Club members on Saturday night.

The lifetime member of the Canadian sports club began her career in 1970 and rose through the ranks to become Kumasi Golf Champion after gaining grounds among the women golfers in the country soon after her arrival.

Linda Tranchemontagne to her home country Canada in 1978 and would go on to become four-time ladies club champion in 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1994.

A writer of golf articles promoting the sport and providing tips, Tranchemontagne served as Cornwall Golf and Country Club captain and past-president of the ladies section from 2007-09, and she was on the club's board of directors from 2010-14.

The hall of famer who is a true humanitarian co-founded The Canadian Surgical Eye Expeditions (CANSEE) an NGO which provided free surgical eye operations for 153 totally and partially blind people in Ghana back in 2006.

Linda is a nurse  teaching eye surgery techniques throughout the world.
