Former Mali captain Kanoute backs Partey to stay in Laliga

Former Malian international, Federick Omar Kanouté has zoomed into the ongoing transfer speculations regarding Atlético Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey to Premier League side Arsenal.
According to the former Eagles captain, the Highly rated Ghanaian midfield kingpin should not leave the Spanish league.
The 26-year-old has constantly been linked to a summer move to the Premier League with Arsenal leading the race for his signature
Manchester United and their city rivals Manchester City started Partey's chase last summer but the deal didn’t materialized.
But after another fine season with Atletico, Partey is back in the transfer news and this time Arsenal is the leading candidate to snap the signature of the Ghanaian.
The former Almeria Star is reported to have rejected a new improved contract from Atletico earlier this month signaling an eminent move from the Wanda Metropolitano outfit.
And commenting on the ongoing speculations, former Tottenham striker Kanouté said he is the fan of the dynamic midfielder but cautioned him not to move to England.
Kanoute claimed that the Spanish capital is the best place for Partey to thrive
“There are a few exciting [African] players in LaLiga in my opinion.” Kanouté told Goal.
“I really like Thomas [Partey] of Atletico Madrid. He’s a player who is going to keep improving, and there have even been rumours of him leaving to other clubs.
“We hope to keep him in LaLiga as long as possible.”
Moving to Arsenal will end Partey’s eight years stay in the Spanish league.
