Kasapa News has gathered that President Akufo Addo has appointed a one term Member of Parliament for the Yagaba- Kobori constituency in the Northern region, Mr. Mustapha Ussif as new Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS).

The former member of mines and energy committee is to succeed Dr. Micheal Kpessa-whyte at the National Service Scheme, after he failed to make it back to parliament in the just ended polls.

Hon. Ussif, who hails from Tantala in the Northern Region and attended his Secondary education at the Salaga Secondary School. He later continued at Bagabaga Teacher training College from 1998 – 2001.

He then taught at Watania JSS for some time and later went to Anglia Ruskin University at Chelmsford in UK to study BA (Hon) in International Business Management from 2007 – 2010.

He again undertook an Executive Program in Management Development at the University of Wales and also holds MBA in finance with distinction from the University of Gloucesterhire in UK.

He also worked as a freelance consultant to Action Aid UK and was an active member of the Mines and Energy Committee of the 6th Parliament of the 4th Republic.

Hon. Mustapha, humble and hardworking is widely believed to have lost his second parliamentary bid to the outgoing Hajj Board Chairman Hon. Ibrahim Tanko due to insufficient resources in a contest rugged by vote buying and inducement.

The President is is likely to officially announce his appointment before the end of the month.
