Ghanaian born Dutch defender Timothy Fosu Mensah has singled out Manchester United stalwart midfielder Michael Carrick for praise emphasising on the immense contribution that the experienced English player continues to make in his career.

The 18 year old player born to Ghanaian parents insisted that his playing at career the Old Trafford is given a fine carve by Michael Carrick who helps him with the "little things" he needs to advance in his career.

He emphasised on the huge role the experienced players at Old Trafford have to play in helping shape the careers of the younger players at the club.

"It's great to work with all the players here, especially the experienced ones, you train with them every day so you can see what they're doing and talk to them." he told Inside United

According to Timothy, the 35 year old who has not been a significant figure in Jose Mourinho's set up this season is one of such players making a great impact in his career saying the English player speaks to him a lot.

"The older players speak with you and help you, especially Michael [Carrick]. He speaks with me a lot and just gives me help with the little things. The team spirit we have here is great."

Fosu-Mensah who made his debut for the club last season has made four appearances for Manchester United this season.
