The Central regional police command has rounded up four persons for attempting to rob a passenger bus on the Cape Coast-Accra highway.

The suspects have been identified as Michael Quaye, Kofi Arthur Stephen, Alex Odoom and Daniel Otchere. The fifth person by name Kweku Ameteb alias “Black Talller’ is on the run.

The four were arrested aboard a commercial Mercedes Sprinter Bus with registration number GR 6914-13 driven by one Isaac Afum, 42, and his mate Philip Owusu, 38.

The driver of the sprinter bus is said to have been attacked at Dominase-Potsin by the armed robbers who were driving a Toyota Corolla with registration number GW 2485- M17 as they took away an unspecified amount of money from the mate.

The four, according to the police,  were about robbing the passengers when they arrived at the scene after a tipoff, foiling their attempt.

Speaking to Starr News’ Central regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour, the public relations officer of the regional police command DSP Irene Oppong appealed to the public to help arrest the other suspect.

She also called on the victims of the robbery to continue cooperating with the police to bring finality to the matter.
