A team of four brilliant students namely Isaac K. Y. Aboah, Henry Duah, Daniel K. Afriyie and Nana Akua Afriyie Busia from the University of Ghana are competing for the most prestigious international prize for students in the world- The Halt Prize.

If successful, they will receive 1 million dollars from President Clinton to invest in their agribusiness idea.

They are closer to the money than you think. Out of 200,000 applications, they were selected to pitch their ideas against 61 other teams in their regional finals in Malaysia.

They won! And must now face-off against 24 other regional finalists in the grand arena of the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Before that, they are to attend a six week accelerator programme in London from 26th July where they will receive solid business development training, coaching and mentorship from some of the world’s most influential business leaders.

So why this long talk? You may have guessed right, they need money: flight, accommodation, living expenses. Their total budget is 14, 651.05 USD ( 77, 650.56 GHC). Cost of flight alone for the four students for Accra- London, London- New York and New York - Accra is 9,567.92 USD.

The University of Ghana is covering half of their budget and they need to raise the other half which is just about 36,000 GHC. Please if you are a company, institution or individual and would like to support these brilliant students to go raise high our flag, they would be eternally grateful.

You can reach them on [email protected] or telephone +233546496655. They have a very comprehensive proposal with all the details you will need.
