Ghanaian winger Frank Acheampong has completed a move to ambitious Chinese Super League side Shenzhen FC on a free transfer.

The 27 year old departed Tianjin Teda where he was made captain on a free transfer.

He has signed a four year contract that will keep him with the Chinese side at least until he is 31 years of age.

According the players representative, there were lots of offers for his client from Europe, China and the Gulf region but decided to continue with his Chinese expedition which has gone well so far.

He will be joined at his new club by compatriot Mubarak Wakaso who has also joined the club on a free transfer.

Acheampong spent three years at Tianjin Teda and was hugely successful as he scored 34 goals in 86 appearances.

The Ghanaian signed a contract extension with his former side which should have kept him till 2022 but his representatives reached an agreement with his side making him a free agent.

He surprisingly departed Belgian side Anderlecht for the riches of the Chinese Super League in 2017 first on loan at Tianjin Teda before making the deal permament.

Acgeampong played an integral role as Tianjin Teda escaped relegation this season scoring 17 goals in 26 appearances.
