Hardly do we see amputee athletes compete with able bodied ones but young amputee athlete Diana Kuumbetegr defied the odds to compete in the Ghana Athletics Association Circuit Championship at the Paa Joe Stadium in Kumasi.

Amputee Athlete from Nadong Girls Model School in the Upper East Region, Diana Kuumbetegr competed with able bodied athletes in last Saturday's 1,5000 meters finals.

Diana Kuumbetegr, the only disabled athlete competed and finished 7th in the women's 1,500m finals.

After coming last in the finals, an obviously disappointed Kuumbetegr says she was aware it will be a tough race and will continue to train hard.

"I knew it would be a tough race but I had the courage and hope that I can finish and I did. I am not disappointed by the result. I will continue training hard." she said.
