This year's Ghana Athletics Association Circuit Championship has been impregnated with shockers as newbie Faustina Amoah displayed a scintillating performance to beat defending champion Rafiatu Nuhu in the Women 400m final.

Rafiatu, whose personal best time was 53.53 secs in the championship last year was dethroned in the race she run 56.16secs.

Faustina Amoah, based in the Western Region finished with a time of 55.49secs to topple Rafiatu who broke down in tears after surrendering her status.

The event which took place at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi also saw Malik Yakubu losing his 10,000m Championship status to Kwame Adjei.
