Where did it go wrong for the much heralded Ghanaian winger, Nana Opoku Ampomah at German Bundesliga 2 side Fortuna Dusseldorf?

He was a darling boy a Belgium Jupiler Pro League side Waasland Beveren where he scored 19 goals providing 11 assist from the wings in 88 official games for the club.

When Fortuna Dusseldorf qualified to the German Bundesliga they bought the Ghanaian winger but it ended horribly wrong for the Ghanaian winger under two different coaches before the club was relegated to the second tier.

The Ghanaian winger made 12 appearances for Fortuna Dusseldorf in the Bundesliga with most of them from the substitutes bench with injuries and bad form a contributory factor.

Ampomah has not hidden his frustration at the club and his willingness to leave before the season began but he has been accused by the German media of using crude tactics to leave Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The winger did not play in his team's league game against Holstien Kiel with the manager, Uwe Rosler explained that the player said he was sick.

“He came this morning with a sick leave and we immediately sent him to our doctor. He won't be in Kiel on Sunday. I don't know what he's got. I didn't see or speak to him at all”, said Fortuna Dusseldorf manager Uwe Rosler.

The media in Germany have accused the winger of trying to exit the xlub through the back door and is doing all he can as there is an offer from Belgian Jupiler Pro side Royal Antwerp for him.
