Former Black Stars player Augustine Arhinful has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to do all they can to get Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu to play for the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-offs next year in March.

He says Ghana needs all quality players available to give them the best shot at making it to Qatar 2022 World Cup .

According to Arhinful,  the GFA should use household former Ghana players like Sammy Osei Kuffour, Tony Baffoe and others to convince the defender to play for Ghana.

The towering defender has rejected call ups to the Black Stars saying that he wants to concentrate on his club side Southampton.

“We need to approach Mohammed Salisu to come and play for us, we need him to come. Let’s contact Samuel Kuffuor, Tony Baffour to do this job for us”, he told Happy FM.

“Let them go there and speak with him. In defense, we got a problem. We need our best players out there to come and represent us. He is a solid defender and a good passer of the ball.

Ghana will know their opponents for the World Cup play offs on December 18 with the two legged play offs coming off in March 2022.
